This is my 6th Game A Week Challenge entry :)
At the beginning of this week, I wanted to start making my first C++ game using Unreal Engine. I was going to make a simple platformer but, on Sunday morning, I realized that I wouldn’t be able to have a finished product by the end of the day. So I decided to postpone this project to next week and began implementing a simple « Rock, Paper, Scissors » game inspired by the TV series : The Big Bang Theory.
What went well
Despite the fact that I implemented this idea in just a few hours, I’m surprised at how the final game turned out to look so polished. If I have time in the future, I might be able to finish this game and put it for free on the play store :)
What went wrong
For this game, nothing went wrong and I even learned some new stuffs lol. However, for the C++ project that I was supposed to make this week, I had some problems regarding the inclusion of basic header files like PaperComponent.h. For some reason, Visual Studio couldn’t find the files, so I decided to make a clean install of the IDE hoping this would solve my problem.
What I learned
I finally decided to dive back into C++ programming and I have to say that I forgot how great this feels ! I hope that my inclusion problem will be solved soon ‘cause I can’t wait to be back on track (VS2017 is still installing at the moment I’m writting this post-mortem).
